I love the weekly lessons. Everything is so well organized. Meeting and speaking with other Peregrinas in the Zoom class is awesome. Hyla and Alysa are open to suggestions from the class members. I absolutely love Hyla and this class. I look forward every week to Wednesdays and our hour together. I have learned a lot and feel so much more confident (and less fearful) about my Camino. Thank you Alysa, Hyla, and everybody else who has participated.
The essential Spanish we need to eat, rest, stay healthy, find our way and make friends as we Woaca the Camino!
Let's have some fun as we easily learn relevant, regionally specific Spanish. Our energetic and cheerful teacher, Hyla will make sure our pronounciation is good and we can set off to walk with more confidence and Woaca swagger.
Here is what we will learn...
Week 1 - Eat
We will learn how to ask for what we want, how to get a seat, find out when a restaurant opens and names for commonly eaten items.
Week 2 - Sleep
This week will be all things accommodation. Woacas need our rest!
Week 3 - Health on the Camino
Phrases and conversation related to cleaning self , taking care of your physical needs, getting help for your body and booking a much needed massage.
Week 4 - Directions
Where to go? How to find the Camino again? How to say "I'm lost". Where is the nearest church, restaurant, town, etc.
Week 5 - Make Friends
How to be polite and friendly and spread our Woaca sunshine in Spanish.
Week 6 - Special Requests
This week is reserved for special requests. We will give Hyla our requests ahead of time and she can craft a class around them.

A safe and fun community for learning a new language…this is what WOACA Spanish for the Camino is all about. Interactive with great resources created by Hyla, such as flash cards and pronunciation videos. The words and phrases that you learn will help you to ask for what you need and maybe even have a conversation or two with a native Spanish speaker. Knowing even a few key words and phrases is a great way to increase your confidence during your grand adventure. Hyla is a wonderful and supportive teacher and I would recommend the classes to anyone who is walking the Camino in Spain.

I have yet to make an appearance at the live meetings but I am loving the convenience of having access to the lessons. I would definitely be interested in another round in October. Muchos Gracias 
Our Live Classes will run:
Wednesdays July 24 - August 28
12:00 - 1:00 pm EST (Toronto)
Each registration includes everything you need to learn the Woaca way...fun, easy and accessible:
- Weekly 1 hour live zoom class where we will learn words, phrases and responses and practice what we learn.
- A recording of the class in case you can't attend live.
- A summary video of just phrases and words with the text under them so we can practice reading and talking.
- A pdf of all of the phrases and words we learned at the end of the class.
- Fun, online flashcards for easy practice.
- A private community for all of us Spanish learners where we can ask each other questions, celebrate our progress or practice further.
We have Woacas from all over the world in many different time zones in our wonderful community so...
Hyla and I have specifically set up this course so even if you can't go to the classes in person, you will get everything included here so you will still be able to join in the fun and learn everything you need for your Camino!
Fee for the 6 classes is $120.00 USD (equivalent to $20.00 per class)
One More Cool Thing!
We want to make sure you have all the time you need to learn (and some of us take longer than others 😉)
So with your registration you get access to all subsequent live classes and lifetime access to all of the resources.
This means you can retake the classes as many times as you like and keep practicing using the resources so you become more and more confident in your Spanish before you walk your Camino without spending anything more!

I have really enjoyed the Spanish Classes live as well as the recordings and also on my phone in the "Wild" while in the country. Hiyla has gone above and beyond with resource tools, the PDF, class summary, and quizlet are great to reinforce. Alysa has created a safe, nurturing environment to grow. My favorite part is learning, speaking, and pantomiming along with everyone in class at different levels -just like on the Camino. It is challenging to remember when you are tired or nervous and this class helps the nervous part in a safe supportive environment. I highly recommend this course whether ultimate beginner or an upper-level beginner. Buen Camino Peregrinas
